The chief executive of Blackpool Grand Theatre, ADAM KNIGHT, is among three new trustees appointed by Culture Secretary LISA NANDY to the Theatres Trust board.

He is joined by sustainability and brand strategist LOUISA HARRIS and architect MARK JOHNSTON, with the trio set to commence three-year terms at the national advisory public body from 2 December 2025.

Knight previously held senior positions at venues across the UK, including Crewe Lyceum for HQ Theatres/Trafalgar Entertainment, ICC Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Hall, Sherman Theatre Cardiff and Edinburgh Playhouse.

He is also a co-founder of the Local Theatre Touring Alliance and serves as a Trustee of Oxford Playhouse and Gary Clarke Company.

Johnston is a senior architect at Page\Park Architects in Glasgow, which specialises in the careful conservation and imaginative adaptation of existing buildings.

Throughout his career, he has worked almost exclusively on cultural projects, including adapting venues to contemporary standards for accessibility, sustainability, and audience experience.

Most recently, he led the restoration and redevelopment of the Grade-II listed Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds, and is currently working on projects with Scottish Opera, the Beacon Arts Centre and Leeds Grand Theatre.

Founder of Curiously Liminal, Harris is a coach, moderator and facilitator with her advisory work engaging boards, leadership teams and entrepreneurs.

She is a trustee of Hawkwood: Center for Future Thinking, senior fellow of Kite Insights and an academic tutor for the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership.
