Sky Arts boss among new appointments to ENO and Coliseum boards

English National Opera (ENO) has appointed director of Sky Arts PHIL EDGAR-JONES as chair of the board of directors for its subsidiary, London Coliseum Limited (LCL).

Edgar-Jones has extensive experience in the arts sector and has championed accessible, innovative and diverse programming in his role at Sky Arts.

He has worked with the ENO board for over ten years and his appointment comes at a “pivotal moment” for LCL while it develops new approaches to audience engagement and commercial resilience.

TIM LEPPARD will join the LCL board at the same time, bringing a wealth of experience in sustainable asset management of central London property.

He has been responsible for a variety of projects, from day-to-day management of portfolios to whole building refurbishments.

Chief finance officer of the Walt Disney Company Europe, Middle East and Africa. SIMON BAILEY will join both the LCL and ENO boards.

Bringing an in-depth knowledge of strategic insight and financial expertise gained from over 30 years in the media and entertainment industry, Bailey is passionate about the positive impact of the arts on society.

Edgar-Jones said it was a “privilege” to chair the board and welcome Leppard and Bailey as new members.

He said: “Their appointments mark an exciting new chapter for our venue, and we look forward to the energy, experience and vision they will bring.”

Interim chair of ENO LOUISE JEFFREYS said: “As we continue to explore new commercial opportunities for the London Coliseum, the collaboration between the ENO and LCL boards will be instrumental in unlocking the full potential of the London Coliseum as a vibrant cultural commercial venue.”
