Six new trustees have been appointed to the board of the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum.

MARIELLA FROSTRUP is a journalist, broadcaster and author who covers arts, culture and society. She has judged literary and arts awards such as the Booker Prize and the Turner Prize and co-founded the annual Women in Work Summit.

Another new trustee from the media is VICK HOPE. An award-winning TV and radio presenter, journalist and author, Hope hosts the BBC Radio One show Going Home as well as a range of TV programmes. She was a member of the Women’s Prize for Fiction judging panel in 2021 and is an official ambassador for Amnesty International.

NIGEL NEWTON, the founder and chief executive of Bloomsbury Publishing, is also joining the V&A board. Newton, who founded Bloomsbury in 1986, has held a number of board-level roles in publishing and libraries. He is a member of Cambridge University Library’s advisory committee and president of the charity Book Aid International.

AKSHATA MURTY is a businesswoman who has spent more than a decade investing in early-stage British companies. With her husband, the former Prime Minister RISHI SUNAK, she founded the Richmond Project charity, which supports social mobility by tackling barriers to numeracy.

Also joining the V&A board are ANDREW KEITH, a luxury retail executive, and PEDRO PINA, head of YouTube at Google. Keith worked for 19 years at Lane Crawford Joyce Group, and later at Selfridges, where he was managing director and then chief executive. Pina’s previous experience includes roles at McCann Worldgroup, PepsiCo, and Procter & Gamble. Both have previously served on the V&A’s corporate advisory committee.
