NEIL JONES is to begin as venue director for Eastbourne Theatres on 1 December, in an appointment made by Trafalgar Entertainment’s venue division, Trafalgar Theatres.

Jones has been working as general manager in Eastbourne for the last year and a half, and oversaw the transition to a new operator in the form of Trafalgar for Entertainment Congress Theatre, Devonshire Park Theatre, and the Winter Garden venue in April.

Previously, Jones worked in Cambridge for nearly two decades, the final stint of which saw him direct operations for Cambridge Live, looking after the Corn Exchange and Cambridge Folk Festival.

He has also worked as head of ticketing at London’s Royal Opera House.

Jones said: “I’m thrilled to be taking up the position of venue director at Eastbourne Theatres. I look forward to working with our talented teams to build on what we’ve achieved together and lead Eastbourne Theatres into an exciting new chapter.”

RHYS HOPKIN, regional director at Trafalgar Theatres, said he was “delighted” for Jones, adding: “I wish him every success in the role and look forward to working closely with him as we develop our plans for these wonderful cultural assets.”
