Rambert Chair Dame SUE STREET will step down at the end of June 2026 after seven years in the role, coinciding with the company’s 100th birthday.

Since joining the dance company, Street has guided the organisation through a significant period of transformation, making bold artistic choices while ensuring strong governance and integrity.

She described her time as chair as an “honour” and said the centenary was the “right moment to pass on the role” of chair”.

Rambert chief executive and executive producer HELEN SHUTE said Street has been a “trusted chair”, whose “wisdom, values and conviction have helped shape Rambert’s direction and success”.

“She understands the courage it takes to innovate and her support has given us the freedom to take creative risks – knowing we had a chair who truly believed in what bold dance can do,” added artistic director BENOIT SWAN POUFFER.
