Music royalties champion recruits officer to lead digital ambitions

SALLY WEIR is to look after the needs of 180,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers, as she becomes chief membership officer at PRS for Music.

Weir, who has worked for some 20 years in senior leadership roles across finance and media, joins the 110-year-old royalties management organisation as it “strengthens its commitment to member service excellence”.

She has previously worked for companies including Sky, Bupa, and Direct Line Group.

Reporting to chief executive ANDREA CZAPARY MARTIN, Weir will be tasked with making sure all PRS for Music’s joiners can maximise their membership experience.

She will also lead on ambitions to improve the organisation’s online tools and services.

Welcoming the new appointment, Martin said: “As we continue to make progress on our digital experience programme, which includes the member journey, it is time to sharpen our focus on our service offering.

“Sally is widely recognised for her ability to drive operational excellence and digital innovation through the development and leadership of high-performing teams. I look forward to welcoming her to the team.”

Weir added: “I am delighted to be joining PRS for Music in the new year.

“Songwriters, composers and music publishers are at the heart of this organisation – it’s important that they feel connected and heard. I look forward to working with the members’ council and leadership team to further PRS’ mission and enhance our service offering to members.”
