Marlowe Theatre adds new trustees
Marlowe Theatre has appointed theatre director ATRI BANERJEE, former National Portrait Gallery deputy director PIM BAXTER and senior education leader Dr KERRY JORDAN-DAUS to its board of trustees.
Artistic lead at the Gate Theatre, Banerjee was previously a trainee director at the Royal Exchange and a resident director at the Almeida Theatre. He has worked as a translator for the Royal Court Theatre, Fabulamundi and the Royal Shakespeare Company and is a trustee of the Regional Theatre Young Directors’ Scheme.
Baxter has more than 35 years of experience in leadership within the arts, heritage, and creative industries. She was at the National Portrait Gallery for 22 years, until October 2019, including a stint as deputy director. Before that, she spent 10 years at the National Theatre.
Previously, a senior leader in schools before moving into higher education, Jordan-Daus is currently the CEO of Veritas Multi Academy Trust in East Kent. She is also acting CEO of Rainham Mark Education Trust, as well as the Kent Lead for the campaign network WomenEd.
Chief executive at the Marlowe Theatre, DEBORAH SHAW, said, “An artist, an educator and an arts and heritage leader is the perfect combination to join the existing talents on our board, as we embark on our journey to produce large-scale touring theatre, open a new Creative Learning Centre in an 800 year-old heritage building and to grow our industry-leading training and talent development programmes across primary, secondary, further and higher education in Kent.”
