London Music Fund names leader in time for 15th anniversary
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s director of community and education is to join London Music Fund (LMF) as chief executive.
CHRIS STONES will take up his new role on 7 April, succeeding CHRISSY KINSELLA at a charity committed to supporting children and young people from low-income families to “access, progress and excel” in music.
Kinsella has served LMF for more than 10 years, and leaves to join London Mozart Players, also as chief executive.
Stones brings experience in outreach within the orchestral world, having worked at organisations including Glyndebourne, serving there as head of tour development and head of learning and engagement.
He joins LMF in time to lead its 15th anniversary celebrations.
Stones said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the wonderful team at LMF. Over the past 15 years LMF has established itself as a vital part of the music education ecology of our city, and is becoming a beacon of best practice for other UK cities too.
“This important work is needed now more than ever, and as we look forward to the next 15 years for LMF I am hugely excited to build on an impressive legacy and play my role in developing the future of the charity.”
