CLARE LILLEY will become Yorkshire Sculpture Park's (YSP) second ever Director in March when Founder PETER MURRAY retires.

Lilley has worked with the park since 1999, most recently as its Director of Programme, taking responsibility for temporary exhibitions and projects, the collection, learning and engagement.

A trustee of Art UK and the George Rickey Foundation, Lilley has curated Regent Park's Frieze Sculpture since 2012.

She sits on the Advisory Committee of the Government Art Collection, the Yinka Shonibare Foundation, and the Steering and Curatorial Groups of Yorkshire Sculpture International.

Lilley says the appointment is an honour and an opportunity to make the organisation "even more dynamic and resilient".

"I’m committed to developing this incredible institution in such a way that it is both more widely recognised as a world leader and... serves art, artists and our increasingly diverse audiences."
