Director MARIANNE ELLIOTT is joining theatre company Pentabus as a board member.

An internationally acclaimed director, Elliott’s credits on the West End and Broadway include War Horse, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time and Angels in America. She is the only woman to have won three Tony Awards for Best Direction.

Also, a former associate director at the National Theatre and artistic director of the Royal Exchange, Elliott’s debut film, The Salt Path, is set to be released at the end of May.

Elliott joins ten other board members at the Shropshire-based rural theatre company, which recently completed two sell-out national tours.

“It’s great to join the Pentabus board. They champion new writing, and they tell important stories with flair and heart,” Elliott commented.

“It’s a critical period of time for theatre, especially touring organisations, and I’m delighted to play my part in helping [artistic director] ELLE WHILE and her brilliant team.”
