Eight specialists to join Royal Northern College of Music
The Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) is welcoming eight new tutors ahead of the 2025/26 academic year, with professors and specialists from wind, brass, vocal studies and popular music all set to join before students’ September start.
NAOMI SULLIVAN joins the School of Wind, Brass and Percussion (SWBP) as professor of saxophone, alongside FRASER LANGTON and OLIVER CASANOVAS NUEVO in two new professor of clarinet roles, and former Los Angeles Philharmonic member JULIEN BEAUDIMENT as a visiting professor of flute.
Director of wind and joint head of SWBP, KEVIN GOWLAND, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Julien, Naomi, Fraser, and Oliver will be joining us from September, and I look forward to working very closely with them. They are all outstanding musicians and will be a source of excellence and inspiration for our students.”
In addition, the School of Vocal Studies and Opera is to bring tenor CHRISTOPHER TURNER on board as professor of singing. The Popular Music department has recruited Romanian violinist and educator ANDRA VORNICU, who comes in as professor of pop violin, DAMIAN MORGAN as artist development specialist, and RNCM graduate REBECCA LEWIS, who returns to the college as a creative multi-specialist working within vocals.
