Aberdeen Performing Arts will welcome RACHEL HARRIS as its new programmer.

Harris will take up the role booking shows and events for His Majesty’s Theatre, the Music Hall and the Lemon Tree, as well as five annual festivals from February.

With over ten years of experience, including front-of-house and venue management, Harris joins from Assembly Festival, the longest-running multi-venue operator at the Edinburgh Fringe, where she curated and managed a programme of more than 240 productions each summer for nearly four years.

She also held roles as a team assistant at the BBC, corporate affairs coordinator at the real estate impact company TAS in Toronto, and was box office supervisor at the Sydney Film Festival.

“We’re very happy to welcome Rachel to the team,” said Aberdeen Performing Arts Head of Programming, STEVEN MILNE.

“Her programming experience, passion for the Scottish arts sector and her clear understanding of artists and audiences will add real strength across our venues, festivals and creative engagement activities.”

Harris added, “I’m thrilled to be joining the fantastic team at Aberdeen Performing Arts and am excited to be working on the great programmes across these amazing venues and festivals.”
