TONIA LU has been appointed as Luminate’s new head of operations and development.
Currently interim CEO at Cornwall’s Creative Kernow, Lu will join the Scottish creative ageing organisation in September.
The founder and director of House of Prints, Lu is also a board member for Camborne Town Deal and Leicester Print Workshop. She was previously creative business advisor at Cultivator for six years
Lu, who has a PhD in Cultural Policy from the University of Glasgow, said, “Although it’s been 10 years since I lived in Scotland, I maintained strong links and have always planned to come back.”
“I have a strong belief in the vital role of arts and creativity in our lives, and have admired Luminate’s work since my time in Scotland. It feels like the perfect opportunity to return and take on an exciting new challenge,” she added.
Luminate director ANNE GALLACHER said that “having Tonia in post will make a real difference”.
