Birmingham Contemporary Music Group appoints new chair
Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (BCMG) has appointed PAULA WHITEHOUSE as chair of its board.
Whitehouse is professor of practice in business growth and innovation at Aston University, and directs the Aston Centre for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.
She is a principal fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an experienced charity trustee. She is also a current trustee of Ex Cathedra, a choir and early music ensemble based in Birmingham.
Over a number of years she has worked with BCMG, an Arts Council England NPO, on fundraising, audience development and evaluation. She has also worked for City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
STEPHAN MEIER, artistic director of BCMG, said: “Paula brings with her decades of experience and insight into strategic leadership, in the arts sector, higher education, business and government.
“BCMG is fortunate to have such a strong board of trustees which will only see the benefit of having Paula at the helm.”
Whitehouse commented: “I have followed BCMG’s progress since it was founded and have been thoroughly impressed by its vision and the impact it creates for musicians, participants, audiences and new music.
“It will be a privilege to take on the role of chair, where I can work with the team and trustees supporting this innovative organisation to thrive and continue its important work.”
