Actors Touring Company recruits to bring ‘injection of new thinking’
HELEN JEFFREYS is to join MATTHEW XIA at the helm of Actors Touring Company (ATC).
Jeffreys, who has worked for organisations including Tara Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, and the City of London Sinfonia, is to take up the role of interim executive director at ATC.
She will work alongside artistic director and chief executive Xia, who said he was “already enjoying collaborating with her to shape the company’s future.”
Meanwhile, the Science Museum Group’s SARITA GODBER and Theatro Technis producer LAILA ALJ are among five recruits to the company’s board.
They are joined by the deputy director of the Government Legal Department, ELENI GILL, communications expert FEEROZA PATEL, and director TEUNKIE VAN DER SLUIJS.
Xia commented: “We’re thrilled to announce the beginning of an exciting new chapter at ATC, which will see a big injection of energy, ideas and sharp new thinking. I’m delighted to be joined by Helen Jeffreys as ATC’s interim executive director. Her extensive producing and leadership experience is invaluable, and I’m already enjoying collaborating with her to shape the company’s future.”
“We’re also welcoming five fantastic new trustees: Feeroza, Laila, Teunkie, Eleni, and Sarita,” Xia added. “Each of them brings something unique, from communications and law to directing, producing, performing, and cultural change, united by a deep love of theatre and a shared belief in ATC’s globally minded mission.”
