Vaughan to leave Battersea Arts Centre
Battersea Arts Centre’s (BAC) executive director AMY VAUGHAN will step down in August, it has been announced.
Since joining the venue in 2022, Vaughan has worked closely with artistic director and CEO TAREK ISKANDER to transform the arts centre’s business strategy and reporting.
Vaughan, who was announced as the new chair of English Touring Theatre last month, said BAC is “a bold, inclusive home for creative innovation that has lived up to its radical views”.
“[It has] given me the space to push the norms and build new resilience models and business strategies,” Vaughan added.
“At a time when new models are what the sector needs, we need organisations like BAC, as well as funders, who are willing to take some leaps toward the unknown.”
“Amy’s impact on BAC has been profound,” Iskander said.
“I have personally valued her unwavering optimism and commitment, and her calm, creative leadership through the challenges we have faced as an organisation and a sector.”
BAC has announced it has begun recruiting for a managing director and a general manager to support its future business plan.
