The SPILL Festival of Performance has announced ROBIN DEACON as its new Artistic Director and CEO from June 2021. Currently Professor of Performance at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he is British artist, writer, filmmaker and educator and graduate of
Between 2003 and 2012 he was an Associate Artist at Artsadmin and from 2004 was Course Director of the Drama and Performance Studies programme at London South Bank University.
Deacon will return to the UK and relocate to Ipswich to lead SPILL’s year-round programme of work with innovative artists from around the world, focusing on addressing social imbalances and highlighting issues of social justice.
SPILL’s current Artistic Director, founder ROBERT PACITTI, has announced his departure to return fully to his own independent artistic practice. The last SPILL Festival curated by him will take place in Ipswich throughout October 2021.
