Sir LLOYD DORFMAN has been appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Royal Opera House, effective from July 2022.

With a strong commitment to theatre, philanthropy and extending access to the arts, Sir Lloyd will lead the ROH board to ensure its future and strengthen its reputation as one of the world’s leading opera houses.

Sir Lloyd is Chairman of Dorfman Media Holdings, and a trustee of BAFTA, the Royal Academy Trust and the  UK Holocaust Memorial Foundation.

He said: "I am delighted to accept this position as Chair of one of the world's best-loved and most-visited theatres in the heart of London’s West End... I look forward to continuing the fantastic work of my predecessors."

ALEX BEARD, Chief Executive of the Royal Opera House, said: "Lloyd is a true champion of the arts, with an outstanding commitment to the public good. I very much look forward to continuing our work together as he leads the Board, helping us to navigate the challenges ahead and unlock the many opportunities of the future."
