BRITANNIA MORTON will become Co-Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sadler's Wells, working closely alongside Artistic Director and Co-CEO Sir ALISTAIR SPALDING.
First joining the Islington-based dance organisation in 2010, Morton has held numerous senior roles at Sadler's Wells, including as Director of Visitor Services and Estates, Interim General Manager, Chief Operating Officer, and most recently Executive Director.
She will be the first woman Chief Executive since LILIAN BAYLIS, who reopened the theatre in 1931.
Morton has led the business planning and design brief for Sadler's Wells East, the organisation's fourth theatre set to open next year as part of the East Bank development in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Prior to Sadler's Wells, Morton led operational teams at Southbank Centre, the Barbican, Royal Albert Hall and English National Opera.
She is Non-Executive Director of east London's The Yard theatre.
Chair NIGEL HIGGINS said Morton has a "deep commitment" to the dance sector and works as a "brilliant double act" with Spalding.

Morton commented: “Opening Sadler’s Wells East - the first public venue at East Bank - is a milestone for the arts in the UK and it’s a really exciting time to taking on this bigger role as Co-CEO.
"We are famous for our teamwork at Sadler’s Wells, and this feels a natural progression of the partnership with Alistair.
"I can’t wait to open the doors of our new venue and make it a real powerhouse for dance."
