Royal Albert Hall announces chair of £50m capital appeal
Lawyer and “lifelong music fan” IAN ROSENBLATT is to chair efforts to raise £50 million for the Royal Albert Hall (RAH).
Rosenblatt is to lead the London concert venue’s capital appeal, which will fund improvements to facilities for artists, audiences, and young people at the Grade I-listed building.
Further details of the development are to be unveiled this November.
Founder of the Rosenblatt Recital Series, which in 2000 set out to platform opera singers from around the world, Rosenblatt is a former trustee and chair of National Museums Liverpool.
He was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2016 for his philanthropic services to music and is head of the firm Rosenblatt Law.
RAH president, JAMES MAX, said: “We’re so excited to be launching our capital appeal. This marks the next stage in the history and evolution of this beloved national institution.
“We couldn’t have found a better person to lead our efforts than Ian. His intelligence, energy, and love of music and the arts will help to power a campaign essential for the future health and success of the Hall.”
