Northern Stage's new board

Northern Stage has three new trustees: Substrakt Director ASH MANN, Gate Theatre CEO SHAWAB IQBAL, and performer and activist RICHARD BOGGIE.

The trio bring "invaluable skills and experience" and help to diversify the board, Chair SIMON ELLIOT said.

Boggie is Development Manager of disability advocacy charity Difference North East, a runner and ukeleleist.

Iqbal has 10 years' experience in theatre and dance. Alongside his role at Gate Theatre, he is Vice Chair of Tamasha Theatre, Senior Associate at the Bush Theatre, and sits on the Arts Council’s London Area Council. He also co-founded of the #AllofUs campaign, supporting Black, Asian and ethnically diverse arts workers made redundant due to Covid-19. 

Man has worked with arts insititutions, charities and higher education institutions. Earlier this year he founded the Tech in Culture EDI Alliance, which aims to improve equality, diveristy and inclusion practices in the sector.
