NIGEL HUDDLESTON has been appointed Shadow Culture Secretary in a reshuffle by Conservative Party leader KEMI BADENOCH.

He succeeds STUART ANDREW, who has been moved to Shadow Health Secretary.

Huddleston, MP since 2015 for Droitwich and Evesham and mid Worcestershire, was most recently co-chair of the Conservative Party alongside DOMINIC JOHNSON.

He served as Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Sport, Tourism and Heritage under the previous government from 2020 to 2022.

Following that, he served as Minister for International Trade from February to November 2023, when he became Financial Secretary to the Treasury until July 2024 under RISHI SUNAK.

On X, Huddleston said it had been “a privilege” to serve as co-chair of the Conservative Party and said he was “delighted to take over the shadow DCMS brief so ably campaigned by Stuart Andrew”.

“I am passionate about all DCMS sectors and am honoured to have been asked by Kemi to take on this new challenge,” he added.
