Amanda Castro, incoming Executive Producer, Spare Tyre Theatre. A woman with auburn hair, she takes a photo of herself sat down.

AMANDA CASTRO is set to join Spare Tyre Theatre as Executive Producer in September.

Bringing over a decade of experience in producing with a particular focus on creating work with and for yong people, communities, and marginalised groups, Castro is the current Executive Producer at Futures Theatre, a new writing company for women and non-binary people.

Before this, she was Community Producer at Bush Theatre, and has worked at various theatre companies as an independent producer including Clean Break, Company Three, and Told by an Idiot.

She is also a member of Terrifying Women, a collective of theatre makers committed to producing horror for stage.

Castro, who will work closely alongside Artistic Director and CEO REBECCA MANSON JONES, said she is “thrilled” to join the team.

“I look forward to continuing their vital work with and for people under-represented in arts and culture.”

“Amanda’s experience and commitment to equity and social change shine out, allied to a strong underpinning of executive skill and leadership,” Spare Tyre Theatre trustee KATIE WELFORD said.

Manson Jones added: “Amanda’s producing background and her commitment to participatory arts are just what we need at Spare Tyre and I can’t wait to start building a partnership with her.”
