JAN DE SCHYNKEL has joined Rosetta Arts as Chief Executive Officer.

He takes over from outgoing CEO SANAZ AMIDI, who led the organisation’s successful application to Arts Council England’s National Portfolio in 2018.

A creative leader, de Schynkel is a former Arts and Culture Manager at Ealing Council. In the role, he established the Cultural Education Partnership, devised and managed creative sector grants and led the development of a Culture Manifesto co-created with various diverse communities.

Prior to this, he began his career as a professional dancer for companies including Rambert, the Finnish National Ballet and Hamburg Ballet and served as a Relationship Manager for Dance at Arts Council England for twelve years, overseeing significant investments and organisations.

“I am excited and humbled to pick up the baton as Rosetta Arts’ new CEO; to work with the board and team and continue the collaborative community focus for those who have little access to the rich and transformative benefits of the arts and education,” de Schynkel said.

“I particularly look forward to further expanding the focus on creative wellbeing, environmental responsibility, the creative skills/jobs pipeline, and to supporting localised economic growth and pride in neighbourhoods.”

Chairman DAVID FORRESTER added: “We are confident that under Jan’s leadership, Rosetta will continue to grow and provide even more transformative opportunities to the community.”
