Jason Wood and Arike Oke

The BFI has announced two new appointments: ARIKE OKE as Executive Director of Knowledge and Collections and JASON WOOD as Executive Director of Public Programmes and Audiences.

Oke joins from Black Cultural Archives where she was Managing Director. A registered archivist, curator and museology consultant, she is a fellow of the Arts Council’s Museums and Resilient Leadership programme.

Wood takes on the newly-created role as the outgoing Creative Director for Film & Culture at HOME and a Research Professor of Film at Manchester School of Art. He was formally Curzon Cinema’s Director of Programming and is also a published author.

Chief Executive Ben Roberts is thrilled the pair are joining BFI.

“We have a vision of transforming access to our programmes, our collections, and to screen culture across the UK, and Arike and Jason bring passion and wisdom in spades.”
