Mackenzie to replace Wadley at ACE London

RUTH MACKENZIE will be the new Chair of Arts Council England’s London Area Council from 1 July. Currently Artistic Director of Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris and for the Holland Festival in Amsterdam, she previously led the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. Her CV includes senior positions at Scottish Opera, Chichester Festival Theatre, DCMS and Nottingham Playhouse, and she was previously Drama Officer at Arts Council England.

She replaces VERONICA WADLEY, whose term of office ends on 30 June. The new appointment was made by London Mayor Sadiq Khan, as laid down by the Arts Council England Royal Charter and the GLA Act, and approved by Culture Secretary Matt Hancock.
