Labour leader KEIR STARMER has reshuffled his shadow frontbench, resulting in a new team at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), ahead of next year's expected general election.

THANGAM DEBBONAIRE has replaced former Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport LUCY POWELL, who moves to Shadow Leader of the House of Commons.

Debbonaire has been MP for Bristol West since 2015 and was Shadow Leader of the House of Commons from May 2021.

MP for Nottingham South LILIAN GREENWOOD is named Shadow Minister for Arts, Heritage and Civil Society, while CHRIS BRYANT becomes Shadow Minister for the Creative Industries and Digital (joint with Science, Innovation, and Technology).

Alongside them is BARBARA KEELEY, MP for Worsley and Eccles South, who has been appointed Shadow Minister for Music and Tourism after serving as Shadow Minister for Arts and Civil Society since March 2022.

STEPHANIE PEACOCK, MP for Barnsley East, is newly appointed to the role of Shadow Minister for Sport, Gambling and Media.

Completing the line up are Baroness GILLIAN MERRON and Lord STEVE BASSAM who remain as Shadow Spokespeople, both appointed last February.
