RICHARD DAVIDSON-HOUSTON will become Glyndebourne’s Managing Director this autumn.

He will succeed SARAH HOPWOOD, who announced her retirement from her executive role in October.

Davidson-Houston has served as Glyndebourne’s Director of Audience Development and Media for the past two years, following a 30-year career in media and communications which involved senior roles at Channel 4 and Microsoft.

He said it’s a “dream come true” to have the opportunity to lead the opera house.

“Coming here has already been a life-changing experience and I am very excited about what lies ahead”.
