KAREN LIVINGSTONE and NEAL SPENCER will join University of Cambridge’s Fitzwilliam Museum as it embarks on a period of transition early next year. Livingstone will be the museum’s first Deputy Director for masterplan, exhibitions & major display projects. She joins from the Science Museum Group where she was responsible for developing and delivering a masterplan for each of the museums in the group since becoming its first Director of masterplan and estate in 2011.

Spencer is joining as Deputy Director for collections and research, and will lead the Collections Division and operate as chief curator. He is currently Keeper of Nile Valley and Mediterranean cultures at the British Museum and was part of the team realising the museum’s masterplan.
