LOUISE FEDOTOV-CLEMENTS has become Foresty England's National Curator of Contemporary Art.

She moves to her new role from Derby-based contemporary art centre QUAD, where she was artistic director for 20 years.

As leader of Foresty England's contemporary arts programme, Fedotov-Clements will take on responsibility for developing “a culturally engaged agenda working at the forefront of the global climate crisis and exploring the vital intersection between art, science and biodiversity”.

She will oversee projects including Earth Photo, residencies, exhibitions and a project to develop a Forest School for MA Architecture students and researchers at Central Saint Martins, in collaboration with Material Cultures and White Arkitekter.

“This role couldn't have come at a more important time, when intersectional thinking, climate, arts, culture, humanities, science and leadership need to align to engage with the world’s most important challenges,” she said.

Fedotov-Clements also announced a new role as Patron supporting the board of FORMAT International Photography Festival, a festival she co-founded and has served as director of since 2004.
