EMMA PIRIE (pictured right) has been appointed to the new role of Head of Marketing and Development for Dance Base Scotland.
Pirie has over 15 years’ experience working in arts and cultural events. Between 2009 and 2020, she worked at Edinburgh Science, the charity that delivers the Edinburgh Science Festival, as Head of Marketing and Communications. She has also worked in marketing and communications roles at Edinburgh’s Traverse Theatre and at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Also joining the Dance Base leadership team is EMILI ÅSTRÖM, who will be the new Head of Dance for Health and Wellbeing. She is currently Dance Officer at Creative Scotland, supporting the Dance team and Creative Learning team.
She was previously at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where she delivered a range of performing arts projects. She has also worked at her former alma mater Rambert School in London as Learning and Participation Manager, and has been a freelance producer for dancer and teacher Kerry Nicholls.
