Former Head of Visual Arts at Creative Scotland Amanda Catto. She has a fringe and brown hair, wears a grey jumper and smiles at the camera. The background is blurred.

AMANDA CATTO will leave Creative Scotland as Head of Visual Arts in December to take "early retirement" following 33 years at the public body.

During her tenure, she advocated for supporting and developing visual arts in Scotland and led the organisation's visual arts work nationally and internationally.

On her departure, Chief Executive IAIN MUNRO said: “Amanda's care for artists, coupled with her enormous passion, commitment, and expertise, has contributed enormously to the growth and development of the sector."

Catto called her time at Creative Scotland a "privilege and joy".

"In a world that feels so fragile and divided, art matters more now than ever, and Scotland must continue to be a place where art and artists are nurtured, celebrated and invested in, for the good of us all.”

Recruitment for the position is now open.
