MARTIN CONSTANTINE will join Streetwise Opera as Artistic Director in January.

Currently International Chair of Directing at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Constantine wrote and is course leader of the college's MA Opera Directing, the first of its kind in the UK.

He has previously directed for Royal Opera House, Bristol Old Vic, Shanghai Opera House and Royal Shakespeare Company and is a previous winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society Award for his Welsh National Youth Opera production of Benjamin Britten's Paul Bunyan.

Streetwise Opera Board Chair Cathy Graham said Constantine will work alongside newly appointed CEO RACHAEL WILLIAMS to lead the company into an exciting future.

Constantine said: "I can’t wait to begin collaborating with the entire Streetwise Opera community to create extraordinary work that challenges perceptions of homelessness and empowers people affected by homelessness to realise their creative potential."
