London Mozart Players (LMP) has appointed CHRISSY KINSELLA as chief executive, taking over from FLYNN LE BROCQ, who stepped down in the summer after four years of leadership.

Kinsella joins LMP in January from the London Music Fund, a charity that aims to widen access and opportunity in music education, particularly for young people from low socio-economic backgrounds.

She began her career as a professional singer and has published research focusing on the impact of Covid-19 on community music-making.

“I’ve long admired LMP’s rich history as one of the UK’s leading chamber orchestras, and its deep commitment to the communities it serves,” said Kinsella. “Having lived in south London for 15 years, I feel a strong connection to this part of the city, and to the values that underpin LMP’s work.

“I look forward to working with [conductor in residence and artistic advisor] JONATHAN BLOXHAM, the board, players and management team to shape the next chapter in the orchestra’s remarkable story.”

Chair Sir ROBERT LECHLER added: “We are delighted that Chrissy is taking over from Flynn to continue the upward trajectory of LMP.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Chrissy’s depth of experience to help secure LMP as the UK’s leading chamber orchestra, driven by its ambition of delivering orchestral music in unique and memorable formats to reach as wide an audience as possible.”
