Cement Fields, a visual arts organisation based in North Kent, has named JON DAVIS as Director.

Taking up post in April, Davis will replace SUE JONES, who steps down following 17 years in post.

Davis is a creative comissioner, consultant, executive producer and programmer, with experience creating large-scale projects and place-based programmes. He was the Senior Producer for the Dynamic City team at Coventry City of Culture Trust, where he delivered and oversaw major events through Coventry's stint as UK City of Culture 2021.

More recently, Davis was Executive Producer of Galwad, an UNBOXED commission.

At Cement Fields, he will be responsible for the artistic and strategic leadership of the organisation.

Chair ANDREW MALONE said Davis brings a “wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, as well as a genuine commitment to working collaboratively with artists, young people, and local communities”.

“As we face uncertain times, creating impactful, experimental and accessible artworks which bring together North Kent’s diverse communities and its young people, is more important than ever,” Davis commented.

“I look forward to working with the brilliant team, artists, audiences and partners to build on the organisation’s significant reputation and to forge new relationships and approaches which create lasting impact in the region and beyond.”
