KATE MOSSE and SHOBI KHAN have been named Board Members of the British Library by the Home Secretary JAMES CLEVERLY

The new trustees began their four-year terms on 1 March.

Khan is the CEO of Canary Wharf Group. Previously, he served as President and COO of American commercial property company GGP Inc and as US Chief Investment Officer at Bentall Kennedy. He has also sat on the board of Alliance Shopping Centres and the Chicago Public Library Foundation.

An author and playwright, Mosse was appointed a member of the Royal Society of Literature in 2022. She is President of the Festival of Chichester and the Founder and Director of the Women’s Prize for Fiction and the Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction.

Previously, she was Deputy Chair of the National Theatre. 

Mosse will receive £9,130 per annum toward reasonable expenses incurred as part of her role. Writing on social media, she said she was "honoured and delighted" to be joining the board.
