Bristol Old Vic executive director and co-CEO CHARLOTTE GEEVES has announced she will leave the historic theatre at the end of the summer.
Geeves is heading to Toronto to lead the National Ballet of Canada as executive director and co-chief executive with artistic director HOPE MUIR.
Geeves has been with Bristol Old Vic for six years, guiding the organisation through Covid and a change in artistic leadership.
She said she was “immensely proud” of everything she and the theatre have achieved and added: “There are few organisations that become part of your soul, but Bristol Old Vic is one of those”.
Bristol Old Vic’s chair, BERNARD DONOGHUE, said “everyone will be very sorry to see Charlotte leave”, describing her as a “fantastic and inspiring” executive director.
“I’m very grateful for her passion, enthusiasm, energy and commitment and my sadness at losing Charlotte is softened by real delight and pride in her new exciting future role,” he added.
