Welsh National Opera has announced that YVETTE VAUGHAN JONES has been appointed as Chair of the Board, the first woman in the Company’s history to hold that role. She will shortly be stepping down from her current roles as Chief Executive of Visiting Arts and Chair of No Fit State Circus. Her earlier career in the arts has included working for independent arts organisations, the Arts Council of Wales, local authorities and Welsh Government. Joining her on the Board will be five more new members, all women: LYNNE BERRY OBE, Chair of Sustrans; MANON EDWARDS AHIR, Head of News, Media and Digital at the National Assembly for Wales; AILEEN RICHARDS, former Executive Vice President of Mars, Incorporated; DR. CHITRA BHARUCHA MBE, former Deputy Director, Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service; and NICOLA AMERY, former Operations Director at Spire Healthcare plc.
