Established 1964
w: http://www.everymanplayhouse.com

How it all began?
The Everyman Theatre was born on September 28 1964, and quickly built a reputation for groundbreaking work. A succession of visionary directors, writers and young acting companies has kept the flame alive for decades.

Pivotal moments
- 1960s: The Everyman Company, including Julie Walters, Pete Postlethwaite, Bill Nighy, Matthew Kelly, Anthony Sher
- 1980: Ken Campbell?s first production of ?The Warp?, the now-legendary 24-hour play
- 2004: The Everyman is restored to producing status.

The organisation today
Under the leadership of Deborah Aydon (Executive Director) and Gemma Bodinetz (Artistic Director) the Everyman is producing again. New writing, fresh adaptations and international premières form the basis of the theatre?s work.

A big thank you to?
The spirit of the Everyman has been created and sustained by all the artists, staff, and audiences who have passed through it during forty eventful years. Thank you to all of them!

Celebration events
The autumn season at the Everyman has been dedicated to birthday festivities. The world premières of two new Liverpool plays will be complemented by special events, under the banner of ?Life Begins?, evoking the spirit of the past in order to build for the future. Many Everyman alumni will be returning for the celebrations, along with many new faces.
