After a sudden illness Will Bell died in December, aged 50. Will worked for Arts Council England for 19 years in a wide variety of roles, including Film & Broadcasting, Policy, Research and Planning. He made a particular contribution to the development of the Arts Council’s support for artists working in Broadcast and New Media. He was responsible for a number of key publications on new media and broadcasting and was involved in the development of ArtsOnline.
Will was a good friend and colleague to many people in the Arts Council and across the wider world of the arts and media. He was also a highly respected advocate of artists working at the cutting edge of art and new technology and a talented artist in his own right. He leaves two daughters, Peta and Phoebe, and a widow, Pip.
