What does your organisation do?

It programmes and presents the finest chamber music and song, performed by the world?s greatest musicians.

What does your job involve?

Programming repertory and artists in Wigmore Concert series; discovering and nurturing unknown young talent; overseeing applications from outside organisations to use the Hall; working with a brilliant team on publications, education, development; working with the Executive Director on management, projects and the capital appeal.

Who did you previously work for?

The Britten Estate as Head of Music, Aldeburgh Productions. Programming for the various festivals, editing new(!) Britten scores for publication. Before this, Opera Australia as a conductor on its Young Artist Programme. Before this, nine blissful years as a student, first in Melbourne, then Oxford.

What do you enjoy most about your present post?

The ability to phone artists I have long loved and say ?Would you be interested in. . .?

What do you find most difficult in your present post? Lunch.

What is your career ambition?

To make a success of my position at Wigmore, all the while continuing to write and conduct internationally.

Who has influenced your career to date the most?

Academically: Malcolm Gillies and Cyril Ehrlich; musically: Keith Radford and Simone Young. Each has invested in me unwavering generosity and belief, and has allowed me to learn from their unfussy brilliance.

If you could have done any job, what would it be?

Um, a cobbler? I don?t know. Very, very happy as I am.
