Executive Director of Salisbury Playhouse, MICHELLE CARWARDINE-PALMER is leaving after five years in post to become Director of Administration and Development for National Theatre Wales.
The new leadership team at Colchester’s Mercury Theatre will be headed by DANIEL BUCKROYD as Artistic Director and THERESA VEITH as Executive Director. Buckroyd joins from New Perspectives Theatre Company where he is Chief Executive and Artistic Director; and Veith is currently Chief Executive of Holton Lee and was previously joint Chief Executive of London Bubble Theatre.
LAURA WILLOUGHBY has been appointed as interim Director at the National Campaign for the Arts, on secondment from London Councils, the advocacy and services organisation for the capital’s 33 local authorities, where she is political advisor. She replaces Acting Director SELINA MEHRA.
SIR PETER BAZALGETTE is the new Chairman of English National Opera. He has been Deputy Chairman and a board member since 2009, and takes over from SIR VERNON ELLIS who becomes President.
Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra has appointed DOUGIE SCARFE as its new Chief Executive. He steps down as Director of the Orchestra, Chorus and Concert Programme at Opera North after 23 years with the company.
Associate Producer of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, RAIDENE CARTER is stepping down after four years in post. She returns to the Albany, where she was previously a Producer, to take up the position of Head of Creative Programmes.
General Director of Garsington Opera ANTHONY WHITWORTH-JONES and Chairman IAIN MACKINNON will both be retiring in autumn 2012. The Board have nominated BERNARD TAYLOR as Chairman-Designate, and MIRANDA CURTIS as Deputy Chairman.
ALEXIS ZELDA STEVENS has joined the Jerwood Charitable Foundation as Communications Manager. She was previously Information and Communications Officer at Dance UK.
As audience development agency Audiences North East closes, Marketing Manager CAROLINE GREENER leaves to become a freelance, offering audience development services and consultancy.
Three new recruits have joined Event Cornwall: JEREMY KIRK as Finance Director, ADRIAN EASON-BASSETT as Event Support Technician and CHERYL BRENDISH as Sponsorship Associate.
NEIL PEARSON has been appointed as Artist Development Manager at the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS). He is also Programming Manager for EFDSS’s London headquarters and part of the management team that organises Shrewsbury Folk Festival.
Comar, the new arts organisation on the Isle of Mull, has appointed CAROLINE WINN as its first Chief Executive. She is currently General Manager of Hebrides Ensemble and was previously Youth Music Officer at the Scottish Arts Council.
The Association of Festival Organisers has appointed TASH DALY to work on membership services and development of the Association.
MICHAEL GRIFFITHS, MELANIE HAWTHORNE, DR LESLEY HODGSON, MARIAN WYN JONES and ANDREW MILLER have all been appointed as board members of the Arts Council of Wales. They start their three-year terms of appointment as Vice Chair DR IAN REES, ROBIN MORRISON and DEBORAH WILCOX end theirs.
