Letters – The question of pay

Thank you for a fascinating, and depressing, article about salary levels in arts organisations. Im sure Im not alone in finding it ironic that the same edition carries two enormous adverts for jobs arising out of Arts Council Englands restructuring, all of which pay very very high salaries  higher than those paid to 96% of people surveyed in fact. Delightful though it might be to see best practice being followed by the Arts Council, something is very wrong with the arts funding system if it is the only employer that can afford to do so.
