Southbank Centre welcomes new board members
Culture Minister LISA NANDY has confirmed LEIGH TAVAZIVA and Sir ROLY KEATING as members of the Southbank Centre’s board of governors, taking up post later this month.
In addition, LIBBY SAVILL will also step into the role of deputy chair in April 2025, taking over from LUKE MAYHEW, who will continue as a governor.
Currently group chief operating officer and board director at the BBC, Tavaziva has held a range of senior executive positions in the Centrica Group. She has also performed as a classical ballerina and contemporary dance artist in the USA, Europe and Africa and is a trustee of BBC Children in Need.
Keating was the British Library’s chief executive from 2012 to 2024. He previously worked at the BBC, where his roles included controller of BBC Four and BBC Two and director of archive content. He is a trustee of the Clore Leadership Programme and was knighted in the 2023 New Year Honours List for services to Literature.
MISAN HARRIMAN, chair of Southbank, said: “We are delighted to welcome these two highly esteemed governors onto the Southbank Centre board. Their exceptional expertise and experience in their respective fields will be vital as we deliver our strategic goals.”
