BHAVIK PARMAR has been named interim executive director at Sampad South Asian Arts and Heritage.

Parmar took up the reins last month following the departure of SABRA KHAN, who stepped down after eight years for a new role as general manager for Birmingham and the Black Country for the National Trust.

Parmar is currently part-time director of Birmingham Arts School and previously worked as head of education at Birmingham Rep.

He said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Sampad team—an organisation that has long championed South Asian arts, heritage and creativity.

“Growing up, I rarely saw role models in the arts sector who looked like me, so it’s a real privilege to step into a leadership role where I can help strengthen connections between artists, communities and culture.

“I’m excited to collaborate with Sampad’s talented team to shape a bold and inclusive future for South Asian arts locally and internationally.”
