Two new trustees, ANTHONY LAU and ALEXANDER MCGOWAN, are joining the Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme (RTYDS).

An RTYDS alum, Lau is currently Associate Artistic Director at Sheffield Theatres. McGowan is Executive Director and joint CEO of Citizens Theatre in Glasgow. He was formerly the Lyceum Theatre Company in Edinburgh’s Executive Director and joint CEO.

Their appointments follow the news the organisation will no longer be part of Arts Council England’s next national portfolio.

RTYDS announced their 2023 plans today (26 January), which include two new projects aiming to remove barriers rooted in social class and offering directors training and development opportunities.

The announcement follows the departure of GRAHAME MORRIS from Chair of the board. RTYDS said they will be seeking Morris’ successor in due course.
