The London Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) has appointed ELENA DUBINETS as Artistic Director, starting in September 2021. Her appointment follows the departure of CRISTINA ROCCA, who joined the LPO in the autumn last year but is leaving for personal reasons.

Dubinets will be leaving the US, where she is currently a Visiting Scholar at the University of Washington. Prior to this she was Chief Artistic Officer at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, where her tenure ended due to the pandemic.

Between 2003 and 2019 she was the Vice President of Artistic Planning and Creative Projects at the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, where she was responsible for its classical music programming. As a co-founder and executive producer of their in-house label, she led the organisation to receive five Grammy awards in five years and the 2018 Gramophone Magazine Orchestra of the Year Award.

Dubinets will work alongside the LPO’s CEO DAVID BURKE
