Chief theatre critic at the Guardian, MICHAEL BILLINGTON, is stepping down after 48 years with the organisation. At nearly 80 years old he is one of the UK’s longest-serving drama critics. He will continue reviewing until Christmas, after which he will continue to contribute regularly to the Guardian’s UK and international theatre coverage.
