A major national touring exhibition featuring over 100 works by artists with first or second hand experiences of mental illness has been curated from a field of 1,800 entries to the Art Works in Mental Health 2003 project.

The show is sponsored by pharmaceutical giant Pfizer in collaboration with ten mental health organisations, and works have been selected by a panel from both the art and mental health fields. Michael Warren, Mental Health Programme Manager for Pfizer, described the company?s involvement as a chance to show a commitment to mental health, not only through its medicines, but also by ?demonstrating the positive outcomes that can be had by pursuing this type of work and showing the quality of it to the wider community.? The exhibition opens in London and tours to Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Manchester.
