From Stewart McGill, Artistic Director of Playbox Theatre Company
The arrival of Unicorn at its own home on the South Bank (AP issue 106, 26 September) is a cause for joy and celebration. However, all of the team at Playbox Theatre Company at The Dream Factory in Warwick would like to point out that the first ?professional? theatre for young people was built for us and opened in 1999 on land provided by Warwickshire County Council. Playbox Theatre Company is a professional company working for and with the young aged 3 to 25, with audiences of all ages but a special focus on young people. We thrill to the arrival of Unicorn, cheer the laying of Egg in Bath and anticipate more custom designed spaces for young people in the years to come, but please when the list is endless and the landscape full, let us acknowledge that Playbox, with the support of funders and 2,000 young people, created The Dream Factory. Six years on there is still much to do... we hope for continued support throughout the profession.
